The "Emoji" project portrays three-dimensional representations of pictographic symbols that have become an integral part of communication in the virtual world. By transforming digital images into tangible art objects, Katika interprets the language of signs, which sometimes supplants natural human languages, within the realm of contemporary cultural symbols.

Pixels are transformed into thread loops, and the images themselves, composed of easily selectable signs, are transformed into objects that demand extensive and meticulous craftsmanship. In this manner, emojis relinquish their primary function of instantaneous communication and find themselves in a new context, where they acquire uniqueness and become valuable artifacts of contemporary art.
